Everyday Moments ~ March 2015

Well, its been a while since I actually had time to participate with our monthly blog circle. Working full time, being a mom of 3 kids and running a small business doesn’t really leave a lot of spare time for me these days. I’m sharing an image of my brothers dog Bella, but this isn’t an ordinary dog to my little girls especially the youngest, Brooke. Brooke, who is 15 months is obsessed with this dog. Brooke goes around all day just yelling “Bella, Bella, Bella”. I’m not totally sure why she is so obsessed with this dog, but they love they share between each other is crazy! Bella is so gentle with her and as gross as this is – Bella will eat right from Brooke’s hand. Of course this has all my mom fears of germs and all gross things hitting me like a train every time I see this (but it is soo cute).

I have a picture of Bella on my phone that Brooke knows is there, so she wants to look at constantly.  She will watch a video I recorded of her laying on the floor calling for “Bella” numerous times a day. In order to regain custody of my phone I had to get this picture printed and framed so Brooke could carry it around with her all day. Yes, incase your wondering Brooke does give the picture kisses and hugs…lol. No, we will not be purchasing a “Bella” to call her own!

Family ~ December 2014

This month our theme is Family. As the end of the year approaches everyone has one thing on their mind – their family. Myself, like many other photographers find the end of the year to be my busiest season. With that being said it doesn’t leave much time for my own little family. I’m looking forward to taking some time off these next few weeks to spend some quality time with my little girls and my loving husband (well deserved if I do say so myself..lol).  I have put together a few of my favorite images from some of my end of the year sessions. Enjoy!

Halloween/Fall ~ Oct 2014

It’s that time of the year again when the leaves start to change and eventually fall, the air gets a little more brisk in the mornings and it also becomes every photographers busy season! The moms of these 2 cute dudes that I’m posting today contacted me and wanted to do a Halloween Mini to capture them in their cute little costumes.

Braden, the bat celebrated his 1st Halloween this year and Trent, Mr. Frankenstein celebrated his 2nd Halloween. You can’t tell in these pictures but as soon as the head pieces for the costumes went on the tears began to flow. Arn’t they just the cutest?

Everyday Moments ~ Water

Our monthly group has been a little quiet this summer as we have been enjoying time with our families. This month a few of us are back and sharing our images with the theme of “Water”.

I recently did a senior session and the young lady grew up footsteps from a private little beach. She wanted to incorporate the beach/water into some of her images and I’m so glad she did!

10 on 10 Blog Circle ~ June 2014

As you can see this is my first blog post since March. I’m not sure how my life got so out of control busy, but I’m sure it has a little something to do with always chasing 3 little girls around, a demanding full time job and a steady photography business that I love.  I would’t trade it for the world, but I would like a magical power to make time slow down so my girls can stay this little for a while longer!

My images are of the very sweet, handsome and always stylish little Trent. I have known Trent’s mom and family for many years now and I love watching him grow through the many images that I have captured througout his first year. This was Trent’s First Birthday Session and since mom is all about the Nautical theme what better place than by the water and boats.

Everyday Moments ~ February

Welcome to our February instalement of Everyday Moments. This month our theme is “Bedtime”. Getting ready for bed is a workout in itself these days in our house since my husband works nights. My 4 images this month sum up my family’s nightly rituals. Each time I look at the individual images it brings me back to so many different things about the girls’ bedtime. Like hearing the older girls trying to decide what color to make their bath water, the laughing and playing in the tub, and even drawing numbers, letters and pictures on the walls with the bath crayons. All this while I’m giving the baby a bath who is so relaxed you would think she was at the Baby Spa getting her nightly million dollar treament…lol

After bath the girls get on their PJ’s, brush their teeth, pick out their favorite doll to sleep with for the night and then its off to dream land; only to wake up and do it all over again in about 12 hours.

10 on 10 Blog Circle ~ February

This month I had the pleasure of photographing a birth session of one of my friends as well as a 6 month old session; Bella who is taking part it one of my “Watch Me Grow Packages”. Her big brother Mason always volunteers to be my helper while I’m there 🙂

For the birth session; mom was being induced because she had gestational diabetes and the baby was gaining too much weight. After being in the hospital for just about 24 hours and getting medication through her IV to start labor she had still not progressed at ALL! She was becoming uncomfortable and very, very hungry…lol. Once the doctor came to check on her later that evening both her and the doctor decided that the best thing for mom and the baby was to just go ahead with a c-section. Of course I wasn’t allowed into the operating room, so I set my camera to the correct settings for dad and gave him a quick photography lesson and away they went. As you will see from the pictures they had a very healthy baby boy weighing in at a whopping 10 pounds! (dad took the picture of the baby on the scale; not too bad) The baby had some trouble keeping his sugar regulated after birth and so he was admitted to the NICU for 3 days.  But all are home now and are doing very well and neither mom or baby have diabetes any longer.

Everyday Moments ~ January

I’m so glad that everyone decided to continue with our blog circle for 2014! I think it keeps our creative side going and gives us an opportunity to challenge ourselves each month. This month our theme was “Light”. I have been pretty busy with my newborn daughter so I didn’t have a lot of downtime this month to be able to shoot some of the ideas that were running through my head. I only have 1 image this month, but I owe my inspiration to my oldest daughter Savannah (her lips are darker than usual because she had to apply her lipstick before her photo shoot…lol) . She is really into the iPad lately and so I just used it’s light for this image.

Blog Circle 10 on 10 ~ January 2014

I’m excited to be back and taking part in our blog circle again. While I was out the last 2 months I took some much needed down time. I was able to relax, prop my feet up for once (litterly…lol) and enjoy the wonderful holiday season with my family. We also welcomed a beautiful little girl into our family in December. This month I introduce you to our newest little girl Brooklyn, who joins big sisters Savannah and Ava. I can’t wait to see where 2014 takes our blog circle.
